What We Do

We combine 8 months of leadership development with 8 days of international community service, and a lifetime of continued support and networking. The end result? Young Appalachian leaders who gain admittance to competitive scholarship programs and universities; who start and strengthen service initiatives and programs within their communities; and who have a greater understanding of their place in our global world.
Community Service
We get our hands dirty, when it comes to the service work we complete. From building four greenhouses from the ground up in the Andes of Peru to mixing concrete and hauling cinderblocks to build schools in Honduras. The work we do has an immediate and significant impact in the communities we work in.
International Travel
We understand the impact travel has on a person, which is why we also make time for cultural exploration. Weaving workshops, exploring the beaches of Tela, Honduras, standing at the top of Machu Picchu, and taking part in homestays with local families are just a few of the things we've done to get to know the communities we're serving.
Personal Growth
Throughout the Winter and Spring we host leadership development summits, encouraging growth in organizing and leveraging a community, developing and fine-tuning your personal vision, and assessing and examining your strengths. After a trip we support students in scholarship & college applications and opportunities, among other things.

Puerto Rico 2019

Throughout the Summer of 2017 hurricanes left the island of Puerto Rico devastated. After over a month, most of the island was still without power. It will take several years to help the island recover and for the economy to bounce back. We will travel to Puerto Rico to partner with local non-profits who have been serving and working on the island for over 10 years. Through these partnerships we will help Puerto Rico to recover from this devastation. During our time there, we will not only serve our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico, but we will also have down time to enjoy the beautiful beaches, explore Old San Juan, and see the incredible marine biology while we snorkel around a catamaran.
